Bootfähige USB-Sticks sind gibt es schon länger, allerdings müssen Sie sich in den meisten Fällen für ein bestimmtes OS entscheiden. Wer häufiger gern wechselt und viel ausprobieren will, muss aber nicht unzählige USB-Sticks bereit halten, die Freeware Yumi (Your Universal Multiboot Installer) macht's möglich. Das Tool macht größere Flashspeicher mit ein paar Klicks "Multi-Boot"-fähig.

Yumi erlaubt es, gleich mehrere Betriebssysteme und Tools auf den Stick zu packen. Dazu wählen Sie einfach den USB-Stick aus und klicken sich in der Auswahl die gewünschten Distributionen oder Tools zusammen. Diese müssen Sie sich allerdings noch als ISO-Dateien herunterladen. Anschließend können Sie den bootfähigen USB-Stick erzeugen. Passen Sie allerdings auf, dass Sie das richtige Laufwerk ausgewählt haben.

YUMI (Your Universal Multiboot Installer), is the successor to MultibootISOs. It can be used to create a Multiboot USB Flash Drive containing multiple operating systems, antivirus utilities, disc cloning, diagnostic tools, and more. Contrary to MultiBootISO's which used grub to boot ISO files directly from USB, YUMI uses syslinux to boot extracted distributions stored on the USB device, and reverts to using grub to Boot Multiple ISO files from USB, if necessary.

Aside from a few distributions, all files are stored within the Multiboot folder, making for a nicely organized Multiboot Drive that can still be used for other storage purposes.
